#WreckedLives Mobile Safety Display

The Northwest LA Transportation Safety Coalition doesn’t want the class of 2020 going out in a crash. Young Driver Emphasis Area leaders are proving the #WreckedLives Mobile Safety Display to schools in the seven parish region of Louisiana State Police Troop G—Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Red River, and Webster. The mobile safety display aims to send a hard-hitting reminder of the dangers and consequences of unsafe driving behaviors—such as drinking and driving, distracted driving, and not wearing a seat belt. Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for Louisiana teenagers, primarily due to inexperience behind the wheel, poor seat belt use and risk-taking behaviors such as speeding and distracted driving. Alcohol can also be a factor in teen crashes, especially during prom and graduation seasons. The display is also a reminder to parents, grandparents, and caregivers about the importance of talking to their teen to reinforce teen driving laws, and to set their own family driving rules.
